Description

TQ 2880 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER SOUTH AUDLEY 79/28 STREET, Wl No. 11 G.V. II Terraced house. 1737, largely rebuilt to same plan after fire in 1769 but with lower storey heights. Brown brick with stucco ground floor, slate roof. 4 storeys and early C.19 attic storey, with basement. 2 windows wide. Entrance to left with segmental arched doorway in coarsely vermiculated stucco surround, 6 panel door with side lights and radial patterned fanlight. 2 narrow ground floor C.19 sashes. 1st floor has French windows in projecting fluted stucco architraves with corner blocks (c.1826); recessed C.19 sashes to upper floors under gauged flat arches, stucco reveals. Moulded sill course below attic. Early C.19 geometric pattern cast iron balcony to 1st floor. Wrought iron area railings with urn finials. Survey of London; Vol. XL.
