Description
This is a terrace house located on South Audley Street, likely built around 1736, probably in conjunction with number 14. The house was altered and heightened in the mid-19th century and early 20th century. It is faced in stucco, with a slate roof, and has three storeys and a basement, with a later attic storey added. The house is three windows wide. The entrance, on the left side, is framed by a segmental arched rusticated surround, with an approximately 1900 door, grilled side lights, and decorative ironwork to the fanlight. The ground floor is channelled, with recessed sash windows. First-floor French windows are framed by architraves with keystoned heads and cornices above. A main stone cornice runs over the second floor, continuing from number 14. Decorative wrought iron balconettes are located on the first floor. Cast iron Victorian area railings are present. The interior has been extensively redecorated in the early 20th century, although some chimney pieces may be original.
