Description
No. 44 Bedford Street is a mid-18th century terraced house that has been altered. It is constructed of stock brick and features a concealed roof. The building stands four storeys high and is two windows wide. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front, while the upper floors display recessed sash windows set beneath flat gauged arches. A wide stucco band runs along the first floor level, and there is a parapet with coping at the top. Inside, the house retains a dog leg staircase with turned balusters and columnar newels, as well as panelling and box cornices in the rooms on the first and second floors.
