Description
This is a two-storey terraced house, likely originally two houses, located on Western Road and extending onto the first plot on the east side of Bedford Place. The house dates from the 18th century and is constructed of stucco, with the roof obscured by a parapet. The Western Road elevation has a one-window range, while the Bedford Place elevation has a two-window range. The ground floor of the Western Road frontage now incorporates a 20th-century shop front. The Western Road side features segmental bay windows on the first and second floors, with triple flat-arched windows containing sashes of original design, flanked by pilasters. The Bedford Place side includes a segmental bay also on the first floor, featuring a flat-arched tripartite window with a cornice. Other windows on the Bedford Place elevation are flat-arched; those on the second floor have 6/6 sashes of original design. A cornice and blocking course run along the top of the Bedford Place elevation. The separate house front on Bedford Place has a flat-arched entrance to the left, and a segmental bay on the first and second floors, flanked by recessed panels and flat-arched windows with deep reveals. The first-floor window in this bay has 6/6 sashes of original design. Side stacks and a stack on the party wall are present. The interior has not been inspected.
