Description

These are a group of three terraced houses, numbered 3, 4, and 5, located on Temple Street in Brighton. They were likely built in the mid to late 19th century, although they may incorporate elements of earlier buildings from the early 19th century. The houses are faced with stucco, and their roofs are hidden behind a parapet. They are two storeys high and each house has a two-window front. The architectural style is Tudor Gothic. Each house features a flat-arched entrance with splayed jambs and a hoodmould. The windows are also flat-arched, and each house has a two-storey canted bay window to the right of its entrance, with splayed sills, cornices, and a blocking course. Above the entrances are blank windows, each with a hoodmould. There is a cornice and an elaborate parapet decorated with quatrefoil ornament; however, the cornice and ornament are missing from number 5. Stacks are located on the party walls between the houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
