Description
No. 47 Norfolk Street is a terraced house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco, with the roof obscured by a parapet. The building has three storeys and features one window range, with all windows being flat-arched. The round-arched entrance is framed by Doric pilasters and a cornice, and includes a fanlight. The ground floor showcases banded rustication and a full-height segmental bay with tripartite windows that have sashes of original design: the ground and second floors have 6 x 6 sashes for the centre light and 2 x 2 for the sidelights, while the first floor has a 6 x 9 centre light and 2 x 3 sidelights. There is a bracketed balcony with a cast-iron balustrade on the first floor. The bay is flanked by Doric pilasters on the first and second floors, with a plain storey band between these levels. The overall cornice has been much simplified, and there is a parapet above. The interior has not been inspected.
