Description

Number 3 is a terraced house built around 1822 to 1830, likely designed by Amon Wilds and Charles Augustine Busby. The house is constructed of stucco and has a roof that is hidden by a parapet. It stands three storeys high over a half-basement, with an attic added later, and features a three-window range with a double-fronted design.

There are steps leading up to a flat-arched entrance that is flanked by pilasters and has a garlanded frieze and cornice. The doorcase is recessed with pilaster jambs and an overlight. The ground floor is decorated with banded rustication that ends in an enriched frieze. On either side of the entrance, there are three-storey segmental bays that extend over canted bays at the basement level. All floors have flat-arched triplet windows, with plain mullions on the ground floor and fasces as mullions on the upper floors. The central flat-arched windows on both upper floors are also notable. Above the first-floor windows is an enriched frieze, and a moulded cornice sits above the second floor, leading up to the parapet. A studio attic has been added to the left side, which has a blank front facing Norfolk Road.

The interior has not been inspected. In the area, there are square corniced piers with remains of cast-iron decorative panels and railings between them.
