Description
Numbers 37, 38, and 39 Norfolk Road are a group of early 19th-century terraced houses. They are built of stucco, with the roof hidden behind a parapet. The properties are three stories high with a basement, and each has a one-window range. A flight of steps leads to a flat-arched entrance with a canopy supported by scrolled consoles, an overlight, and a panelled door of original design for numbers 37 and 38. To the right are three-story bays with windows of a triplet form to numbers 37 and 38; the windows of number 37 retain their original sash design, and the first and second floors of number 38 may also retain original sashes. A cast-iron balconette is present on the ground floor of number 38, while number 39 has a bracketed balcony with cast-iron railings. The buildings are finished with a cornice and blocking course, and have stacks incorporated into the party walls. The interior was not inspected. Cast-iron area railings, featuring spearhead finials, are attached to the properties.
