67 And 68, Chandos Place Wc2

Nos. 67 and 68 Chandos Place is a terraced house and shop built between 1866 and 1868. It features stucco with painted woodwork on the shop front and a slate roof. The building exhibits Italianate detailing on the upper floors, while the shop front has a more conventional early 19th-century character. It stands four storeys high and is four windows wide. The shop front projects, with a central doorway flanked by display windows set within a framework of panelled Doric pilasters, which support a fascia with a dentil cornice. To the right is the house doorway, located in a rusticated semicircular arched keyed opening. The upper floors consist of three bays above the shop, flanked by rusticated quoins, and feature architraved windows. The first-floor windows, except for the entrance bay outside the quoin frame, have pediments on consoles, while the second floor has cornices on consoles and a segmental pediment over the central window. The building is topped with an Italianate console bracketed crowning cornice.
