Description

This is a circa 1850 terraced house with a shop. It is located in Chandos Place, London. The building is constructed of stucco with a slate roof and stands four storeys high, with a sheer attic and basement. It has a three-window frontage.

The ground floor retains a pilaster frame from a former timber shop front. A panelled house door is positioned to the right, featuring a fanlight. The shop doorway and window were altered in the mid-20th century, and are all set beneath an entablature-fascia with a dentil cornice, flanked by simplified consoles. The upper floors contain recessed sash windows; those on the first floor are framed by pulvinated friezes and cornices. The windows in the attic storey are segmental arched. A main dentil cornice runs over the third floor, with a cornice and blocking course to the attic.
