Description
A terrace of houses numbered 9 to 41, Abbey Gardens, dating to around 1850. The houses are constructed of stucco over brick, with stucco dressings. They are arranged over three storeys and a basement. Each house has a two-window frontage, and the central and end pairs project slightly. The ground floor features channelling, while slightly projecting Ionic porches shelter panelled doors. A continuous bombé balcony runs along the first floor. The windows are sash windows with margin glazing; the ground floor windows have architraves, and the first floor windows have cornices, with pediments above the centre and end houses. A console cornice sits above the second floor, topped by a parapet. The terrace forms one of two similar terraces bordering Abbey Gardens.
