Description

Nos. 65 and 67, Marlborough Place are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick with stucco dressings, and have a basement and three storeys. The houses are four windows wide, with recessed bays to the left and right, containing the entrances. The right-hand house’s central bay projects slightly, creating an irregular but unified composition. Rusticated quoins are present. The outer recessed bays have projecting Doric porches with triglyph friezes. The windows are square-headed with architraves above the ground floor. They are sash windows with glazing bars. Cast iron balconies are positioned on both the ground and first floors. A dentil cornice runs above the second floor, surmounted by a parapet.
