Description

Nos. 46 to 52, Marlborough Place form a mid-19th century terrace, originally designed as three separate houses. Constructed of brick and stucco, the terrace is three storeys high with a basement. The central house has a facade of three windows, while the outer houses each have two. The design presents a balanced appearance, with the inner bays of the outer houses projecting slightly, detailed with rusticated quoins and pediments. Doorways are located in the outer bays of the outer houses and on the right side of the central house, each featuring pilastered Doric porches and panelled doors. The ground floor windows of the outer houses are also pilastered and incorporate triglyph friezes; balconies are present on the ground floor except at No. 46. The windows are square-headed, architraved sash windows with glazing bars, and are corniced on the ground floor. A bracketed cornice sits above the second floor, topped by a parapet.
