Description

Nos 61 and 63, Marlborough Place are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick with stucco dressings, and have a roof that is not visible. The houses are three storeys high, plus a basement. They are four windows wide, with recessed bays on the left and right containing entrances within projecting porches featuring Doric columns and triglyph friezes. The composition is treated as a single, irregular design, with the centre bay of the left house set forward slightly. Rusticated quoins are visible, and the windows have square-headed architraves above the ground floor. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground and first floors. A cornice runs above the second floor, surmounted by a parapet.
