Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses with a basement wall. The terrace comprises numbers 45 to 59 (odd) on the south-west side of Randolph Avenue, London. The buildings are constructed of brick, with a stucco finish, the ground floor being channelled. They rise three storeys plus an attic and basement. Each house has two bays. Projecting steps lead to Ionic porches, which contain part-glazed double doors with fanlights above. The first floor windows are tripartite sashes set within vermiculated quoined surrounds. A balustraded balcony runs along the first floor. Casement windows are contained within pedimented surrounds featuring attached fluted Corinthian columns. Above these, sashes are set within architraves. The terrace is finished with scrollwork, a dentil frieze and cornice. A stucco balustraded wall runs along the basement.
