Description

This is an early 19th-century terrace of eight pseudo semi-detached houses, numbered 37 to 55 Addison Avenue, London W11. The two-storey and basement buildings are constructed of stucco, with pilasters marking the centre and corners of the terrace. Each house has four windows. The ground floor features mullion and transom French casements within architrave surrounds, topped with pediments and cast-iron balconies. The first floor has four round-headed sash windows, with archings and an archivolt band running between them. A continuous cill band runs along the first floor. The roof is flat and covered with slate and has overhanging eaves. Recessed entrances with double doors and flights of steps are located on either side of the terrace, surmounted by a stucco entablature. Some of the houses have dormer windows.
