Description

Nos. 16 and 18, St Ann’s Villas are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from 1852. They are constructed of red brick with blue diapering and have slate roofs. The houses are designed in the Tudor style. Each house has two windows wide, with a two-storey canted bay featuring a parapet. They contain stone mullioned and transomed windows with dripmoulds; the ground floor windows have four and five lights. Quoins are present, and there is a gable to the top storey. The outer bays are set back, and four-centred headed porches with steps up are incorporated. These houses are part of a series of twelve pairs of semi-detached houses, deliberately designed with varied features, to form a unified scheme.
