Description

This is a terrace of houses located on Randolph Avenue in Westminster, built around 1860. The terrace comprises numbers 63 to 79 (odd). The buildings are constructed of brick, with a stucco finish to the ground floor, which is channelled to create a textured appearance. The roofs are covered with Welsh slate. Each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. They are arranged in pairs, with each house having two bays. Projecting Ionic porches provide entry, each containing a partly glazed panelled door with an overlight. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes, within vermiculated quoined surrounds. The first floor windows are casement windows set within pedimented surrounds featuring attached fluted Corinthian columns, and are topped by a balustraded balcony. Above this are sash windows set in architraves. The terrace is finished with a decorative scrollwork frieze and cornice, continuing as an additional cornice to the attic. A Mansard roof completes the structure. Iron railings run along the basement and are integrated into balustraded stucco front walls.
