Description

The White House, built around 1860, is a house with a front garden wall located on Randolph Avenue in the City of Westminster. The building is constructed of brick and has a stuccoed, channelled ground floor. It stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement, and features four bays plus an additional recessed bay on the left side. The exterior includes quoins and an Ionic porch with part glazed double doors and an overlight. The windows are sashes set in vermiculated surrounds, with tripartite sashes on the ground and first floors of the side bay. The sashes are also framed by pedimented surrounds with attached fluted Corinthian columns. A simple iron railing on the balcony likely replaces the original stucco balusters. Above the balcony, there are sashes in architraves, along with scrollwork and a dentil cornice. The building has a later mansard roof with dormers and iron railings at the basement level. The front garden wall is stucco balustraded.
