Description

WANDSWORTH HIGH STREET 1. (north side) 5033 Nos 140-142 TQ 2574 23/1 II 2. Pair of cottages, No 140 now sub-divided. Circa mid to late C18. Brick; slatedgambrel roofs to eaves. 2 storeys. Each cottage double fronted, of 3 bays; central entrance with square headed doorcase and hood surviving to No 142; No 140 with C19 shop entrance and facia to centre and right = Square headed windows, plate glass sashes. Casemented square headed dormers. Large stacks to gables. No 142 retaining internal planform, and features including newel staircase, planked doors with some original ironmongery, and other simple woodwork including architraves, some fireplaces and some panelling, etc.
