Description

This milestone, located opposite number 37 on West Hill, dates from the mid-19th century. It is a stone pier approximately 4 feet high, featuring incised directions on its surfaces. The east and west sides indicate "Whitehall 6 1/2 miles," while the south side shows "Royal Exchange 7 miles."
