Description

Down Lodge is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, with alterations made since. It is three stories high with a basement, and originally featured five windows. The exterior is of amber brick, with a brick band defining the first floor. A wooden Doric porch, incorporating mutule cornices and triglyphs, provides access via twin, curved staircases with wrought iron railings. The roof and parapet have been altered. Stucco bays, extending up to the first floor, have been added to both returns of the building. The interior contains some good original features.
