Numbers 191, 193 And 195 And Attached Railings

Numbers 191, 193, and 195 are three houses built around 1830. They are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring soft stocks for the gauged brick lintels and round arches over the ground-floor openings. There is a stucco springing band at the ground floor and a cornice on No. 191, and the roof is parapeted. Each house has three storeys over a basement and two windows. The entrances are located to the left party wall and are accessed by a short flight of steps, which are enclosed by cast-iron railings designed in the 19th century. The basement windows are segmental-arched, while the first and upper-floor windows are fitted with 6x6 sashes that maintain an authentic design. The parapets of Nos. 193 and 195 have been rebuilt, along with parts of the front walls. A notable feature of these identical houses is the break in the plane of the front walls, with No. 191 set back one and a half to two bricks from the front wall plane of the others. The interior has not been inspected.
