Description
Two early 19th-century houses stand on Camberwell New Road. The front walls are of brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The roofs are parapeted. Each house is three storeys high and has two windows, although No. 207 is considerably wider than No. 209. No. 207 has a late 19th or early 20th-century shop front of little architectural merit on its ground floor. The round-arched entrance to No. 209 remains, but the window to the left has been widened. Round-arched windows are present on the first floor of both houses, with the arches constructed of softer brick. The second floor has flat-arched windows with gauged brick lintels; the 6x6 sash windows in No. 207 are of an original design. The parapets of both houses have been rebuilt. A stack exists on the party wall between the two properties. The interior has not been inspected. Despite later alterations, the pair contributes to a well-preserved group of broadly contemporary terraced houses including Nos. 185-205 and 211-215 (odd).
