Description

Numbers 3, 5, and 7, along with their attached railings, are a group of three houses dating to the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with the first floors of numbers 5 and 7 rebuilt and faced with stucco to the ground floor. The slate mansard roofs were rebuilt in the later 20th century. Each house has two storeys over a basement and one window. The ground-floor openings are flat-arched, with entrances featuring plain overlights, shallow pilasters, and shallow canopies. To the right of each entrance is a window with 8x8 sashes. The basement windows are visible within an enclosed area, protected by railings. A string course separates the ground and first floors. The first floor has segmental-arched windows with 10x10 sashes. A plain brick parapet is topped with stone coping, and there are two roof dormers on each house. The interior has not been inspected. The houses are considered to be a group with number 1 Orient Street.
