Description

Number 1 Orient Street is an early 19th-century terrace house. It is constructed of brick with a slate mansard roof, featuring dormers behind a coped parapet. The house has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a two-bay facade (one window on the upper floor). A set of steps leads to a porch with reeded columns and acanthus capitals, and corresponding pilasters to the rear that support a canopy with a panelled ceiling and entablature with a cornice. The front door has six panels, a reeded cornice head and an oblong overlight. Sash windows are fitted with glazing bars and are set beneath gauged brick segmental arches. The interior has not been inspected. The property is accompanied by cast-iron area railings and handrails, with urn finials at the corners.
