Description
The railings and gates to Caroline Gardens are part of a complex of almshouses built around 1830 to 1840, with some sections added in 1927 and others replaced after World War II. The decorative ironwork features spearhead finials, and there is a central gate with an overthrow situated between ashlar gate piers topped with lanterns. The southern entrance has similar gate piers, while the original wrought-iron gate piers to the north are decaying.
