Description
St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School is a school built in 1909 by Leonard Stokes. It features multi-coloured stock brick with red brick dressings and is designed in a plain Queen Anne style. The building has a high parapet with barred rectangular openings for a roof playground. It stands three storeys tall, with red brick quoins and vertical panels from the first floor upwards, dividing the facade into four sections in a 1:3:3:1 ratio. The tall 18-pane sash windows have flat, gauged-brick arches and are set in flush frames with glazing bars. There are red brick bands at the roof and first-floor levels, and a statue of a saint is located in an oriel niche at the centre of the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
