Description

This is an early to mid-19th century house located on the south side of Camberwell New Road. It is a three-storey building with a basement, originally featuring three windows, and has projecting side bays of one storey and a basement. The house is constructed of stock brick and has a parapet. Distinctive detailing includes a stuccoed cornice band, a band at the level of the first-floor window sills, and an impost string marking the ground floor. The ground floor has a round-arched design above the windows, using gauged brick. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The front door is set between engaged Tuscan columns with a corniced head and a patterned fanlight, all sheltered by a segmental gauged brick arch within a segment-headed recess. Six steps lead to the door, featuring patterned cast iron handrails.
