Pair of houses, later hop merchants' offices, now one office. Early to mid C18, facade partly rebuilt late C19. Red brick with stone and brick dressings, slate mansard with flat-roofed dormers behind plain brick parapet. 3 storeys and attic, 4 unequal bays, 2:2. Later C19 shop front has off-centre pedimented doorcase with elaborate scrolled brackets, the moulded cornice terminating in capitals of corner pilasters. To left and right, replaced windows, recessed under round arch to left, elliptical arch to right. Upper floors have horned sashes with glazing bars under painted, gauged-brick arches; plain brick string courses above. Moulded sill band to 1st-floor windows. INTERIOR: part of C18 closed string staircase with square newels and rails, moulded on outer edge. Ball finials and pendants, turned balusters, bottom newel in form of Greek Cross with 4 attached half-balusters. Reordered internally C20.
