Bank and offices. Late C19. Brick in Flemish bond with stone. Hipped roof of slate. 3 storeys and pedimented dormers over basement. Italianate style EXTERIOR: 5-window range to Borough High Street; curved and rebated corner range to north corner of triangular block. 8-window range to Southwark Street, the westmost curved to rear. Openings to ground and 1st floor are flat-arched. Basement plinth of banded rustication. Ground floor articulated into bays by panelled piers topped by acanthus brackets; entablature above with panelled frieze and cornice, except for corner. Corner openings are tripartite. Vermiculated quoin strips to 1st and 2nd floors at rebated range; single quoin strip to corner with alley. First-floor windows set in architraves with flush surrounds, topped by cornices on projecting brackets; curved range with pediment, the architrave eared and shouldered. Balustrade to roof; pedimented dormer. INTERIOR: not inspected.
