Description

This is an early to mid-19th century villa, originally featuring three storeys and a basement, with a three-window front. The roof is low-pitched and slated, with chimney walls at each end. The eaves have elaborate brackets and a moulded cornice. The exterior is made of stock brick. The sash windows retain glazing bars or margin lights, and have altered architraves. The ground floor windows are topped with console brackets, a cornice, and a pediment. Bracketed cills and cast iron railings are present on the ground and second floors. A flight of eight steps leads to a four-panel door, framed by a cornice head and a rectangular fanlight, within a prostyle porch: No. 45 has a mutuled cornice on the porch, while No. 47 has Doric detailing. The building is listed for its group value.
