Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of six houses, numbered 111 to 115 on Brixton Road. The terrace presents a symmetrical appearance, with each house being three storeys high and having a basement. Each house originally had two windows, although the outer houses feature slightly narrower, recessed entrance bays. The exterior is rendered in stucco and features incised lines, as well as full-height pilasters that extend upward from a first-floor sill band to a plain parapet; the original entablature is missing. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and are surrounded by moulded architraves on the upper floors. Similar architraves and ornamental cast iron balconies are present on the ground-floor casements, which have margin lights. A set of four steps, together with cast iron handrails, leads to the 6-panel doors, each of which has a reeded head and a patterned, rectangular fanlight. The terrace is listed for its contribution to the group value of the area.
