Description
23 and 25 Cowley Road is an early to mid-19th century pair of houses, each two storeys high with one window. They are finished in stucco and feature a cornice and blocking course. The sash windows have glazing bars; the ground floor windows are round-headed, with No 23 displaying radial glazing and No 25 featuring interlaced bars. The first-floor windows are set in flat stucco surrounds with console bracketed cornices. In the center, there is a blank recess treated similarly, topped with a pediment. The ground floor windows are framed by moulded architraves with vermiculate keyblocks. The doors are five-panel designs, with plain fanlights, and are set within enriched moulded architraves that have masks on the keyblocks.
