Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of houses located on the east side of Cowley Road. The front of the terrace is stuccoed. The houses are two storeys high, and generally three bays wide, although number 9 has only two bays. Each house features a blank panel in the centre of the first floor. A full-height elliptical arched recess is present in each bay, and a narrower arched recess separates the individual houses. The building has a prominent main cornice and blocking course above the top floor. The first floor has long casement windows with transoms that lead to ornamental wrought iron balconies. The ground floor features sash windows with glazing bars and side margin lights. The central doorways consist of two, one, or two panels, each with a cornice head and a small fanlight set under a shallow segmental arch. The terrace was restored by the local authority.
