Description
This is an early 19th-century terrace of houses located on Bromham Road. The terrace is constructed of stucco with a Welsh slate roof and an eaves cornice. It is arranged over three storeys and comprises a central pair of houses with six windows, and side pairs each with four windows, all featuring double-hung sash windows. The central windows are distinguished by stucco flat arches with key blocks. A central projection is marked by quoins, with a channelled ground floor and a detailed tetrastyle pedimented porch, leading to a pair of doorways with elliptical fans in fielded panelled reveals. The flanking sides have narrower porches featuring slim Doric columns and entablatures with modillion cornices, framing paired round-arched doorways. Two ground floor windows retain interesting cast iron balconettes. Horizontal bands are visible at floor levels. Number 26 is partly obscured by a more recent ground floor shop. Numbers 22 to 48 (even) form a visually cohesive group.
