Description
Nos. 2 and 3 Cowley Street are a pair of terraced houses built around 1722. They are constructed of brown brick and feature tiled roofs, standing three storeys high with basements and dormered mansards. The entrances are located to the right and have early 19th-century reeded architrave doorcases with corner bosses. The houses have recessed sash windows that sit under segmental gauged arches, with stuccoed reveals. The upper parts of the facades have been rebuilt but retain the original windows. There are brick plat bands and parapets with coping, along with wrought iron area railings. This pair is part of an exceptionally well-preserved early 18th-century group of housing that includes Barton and Lord North Streets.
