Description
No. 3 Barton Street is a terrace house built around 1722. It features a brown brick exterior and a tiled roof, with three storeys, a basement, and a dormered mansard. The house is three windows wide, and the doorway is located to the right, showcasing a panelled door set within an architrave case, topped with an attractive shell hood supported by scrolled iron brackets. The windows have recessed glazing bar sashes beneath flat red brick gauged arches. The building has a parapet with coping and wrought iron area railings. It retains its original cornice rain-water head and lead down-pipe. This house is part of an exceptionally well-preserved early 18th-century group of buildings, along with those on Cowley and Lord North Streets.
