Description

TQ 3079 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER GREAT COLLEGE STREET, SW1 101/32 No 16 24.2.58 GV II* Terraced house. c.1720-22. Frown brick with red brick dressings to flanks and centre, tiled roof. 3 storeys raised on basement, and dormered attic. 3 windows with centre bay slightly advanced. Central entrance approached by short flight of steps, the doorway set back in segmental arched recess. Recessed glazing bar sashes under segmental light red brick arches and dressed jambs, with stuccoed reveals. Brick plat band below parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings with urn finials. Original lead rainwater head and down pipe. Interior retains most of its original fielded panelling with box cornices and good cut and carved string turned baluster staircase with ramped moulded handrails.
