Description

The Abbey (Canons') Garden features four statues of the Apostles, created in 1686 by Grinling Gibbons and Arnold Quellin. These weathered marble statues are remnants from the altar of the former Queen's Chapel in the Palace of Whitehall, which was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The better-preserved sculptured elements have been relocated to Burnham-on-Sea.
