Description
No. 82 on The Street is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It features a black brick header bond with red brick dressings and a red and black glazed pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with two ground floor and three first floor windows. The windows are two-light casements from around 1900, with the uppermost lights having glazing bars, all set within original openings that have flat rubbed brick arches. The central door is flanked by reeded pilasters and an architrave, with a raised and fielded six-panel door that has glazed upper panels. The house also has red brick quoins and panels around the windows, a moulded brick eaves cornice, and tumbling to the gables, parapets, and end stacks. To the east, there is a single-storey brick and pantiled wing that contains two two-light casements and one three-light casement. Inside, there is a central staircase with a solid wooden dado that serves as a handrail. The ground floor features raised and fielded six-panel doors, while the first floor has two-panel doors.
