Description
No. 74, known as Allendale, is a house and shop built around 1830. It is constructed of red brick and covered with black pantiles. The building has two storeys and features four bays. On the ground floor, there are two sashes and three first-floor sashes, all with glazing bars and set under rubbed brick arches. The central entrance has a doorcase supported by Doric pilasters, with a 20th-century door that is partly glazed. The ground floor includes five shop windows, each with a single horizontal glazing bar, alongside a part-glazed door. The eaves are wooden, and there is an off-centre stack at the east end. The gables are made of flint. To the west, there is a single-storey wing that is rendered and pantiled, featuring three 3-light casements and wooden eaves.
