Description

No. 48 Dean Street is a house built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of rendered brick and has three storeys with two bays. The ground floor has been altered and now features three square-headed entrances. The upper floor has square-headed windows with flush frames, plate glass, and casements. There is a square-headed dormer on the felted mansard roof. The original brickwork is exposed on the rear elevation. Inside, the building retains a turned baluster, closed string staircase that reaches full height, some dado panelling, and door architraves. The house has an unusual plan form, with a rear room that projects out from the back of the building.
