Description
No. 21 Romilly Street is a terrace house built between 1738 and 1739, with a top floor added in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is made of brown brick and has a concealed roof. It was likely constructed as a pair with No. 22. The house is four storeys high and three windows wide, with a mid-20th century ground floor. The upper floors feature recessed glazing bar sash windows set under gauged flat arches, and there is a parapet with coping. Inside, the house retains the upper flights of a dog leg open string staircase with turned balusters and panelled compartment walls, although much of the original panelling and cornices noted by the Survey of London have been lost.
