Description
Nos. 37 and 38 Frith Street are a pair of terrace houses built around 1781. They are constructed from multi-coloured stock brick and have a concealed roof, standing four storeys tall and each featuring two windows.
No. 37 has a mid-19th century wooden shop front at the corner with Romilly Street, which includes a glazed and panelled shop door flanked by display windows, a fascia with a bracketed cornice, and a square-headed house doorway with a fanlight facing Romilly Street.
No. 38 features a house door to the right, which is square-headed with a panelled door and fanlight. It also has a wooden pilaster-framed mid-19th century shop front with an inswept frieze leading to the entablature-fascia, although the display window has been altered. The upper floors of both houses have recessed glazing bar sashes beneath flat red brick gauged arches, with the glazing bars missing from the second floor of No. 38. There is a stucco plat band at the first floor and a parapet with coping. Additionally, there are two blind windows on the return to Romilly Street.
