Description
No. 13 Cowley Street is a terrace house built around 1722. It features a brown brick exterior and a tiled roof, rising three storeys with a basement and a dormered mansard. The house is three windows wide, with the entrance located to the left. It has a mid-19th century Doric pier doorcase with an entablature. The windows are flush framed glazing bar sashes set beneath segmental gauged arches. There are brick plat bands at the first and second floors, and the building has a parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings with flambé torch finials complete the façade. This house is part of an exceptionally well-preserved group of early 18th century housing alongside Barton and Lord North Streets.
