Description

This is a circa 1800 house of three storeys and a basement, situated on the west side of South Lambeth Road. The building is constructed of stock brick with a rusticated stone basement, a first-floor cill band, and a mutuled cornice. The sash windows have glazing bars, stone sills, and are set within gauged flat brick arches. A four-stone-step approach leads to a six-panel front door, set in a panelled reveal and flanked by engaged columns and pilasters supporting a cornice head, below a wide fanlight. A prostyle Ionic porch features an enriched entablature and blocking course. One-storey side bays are topped with stone cornices and blocking courses, supporting modern doors with hoods that are set within original round arched recesses, ornamented with a mask on the key block and patterned impost blocks.
