Description
No. 8 Barnsbury Park is a double-fronted detached house built around 1818. It features a brick structure with stucco that is lined to resemble ashlar, and has a truncated hipped roof made of Welsh slate with projecting eaves at the center bay. The roof of the wings is obscured by a blocking course, and there are stucco stacks at the ends and supporting walls. The house has a central hall entrance plan and is designed in a Neo-Classical style.
It stands two stories tall and has a five-window range arranged in a 1:3:1 pattern. Steps lead up to a Doric prostyle portico, which frames a doorway with a reeded surround and lion-head stops, leading to a panelled door. The ground floor features 6/6 sash windows on the left wing, 1/1 sash windows on the right wing and the right sash of the center bay, along with a pair of casements in the left window of the center bay. An upper storey sill-band in stucco is present, with 6/6 sashes in the wings and 2/2 sashes in the center bay. The wings also have a stucco cornice, and iron railings are found at the truncated portion of the roof.
