Description
Number 33-39 (Odd) are a row of terraced houses located on Brooksby Street in Islington. These houses were built from yellow brick in Flemish bond and feature roofs made of asbestos slate, except for number 33, which has a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are two storeys tall with a basement and have dormers in a mansard roof, with two windows on each house. All openings have heads made of gauged brick.
There are steps leading up to a round-arched entrance, which is adorned with cabled and fluted pilasters, a cornice, a blocked fanlight, and a panelled door that retains its original design. The ground-floor window is round-arched, with sashes of original design that include margin lights. The first-floor windows are flat-arched and each is set beneath a round arch made of gauged brick. The houses have a parapet and chimney stacks on the party walls.
Notably, number 37 features an open fanlight and retains original design sashes throughout. The properties are complemented by cast-iron railings that enclose the steps and area.
