Description
No. 57 Brooksby Street is a former public house, known as The Rising Sun, now converted into flats. It dates from the mid-19th century and features a combination of stucco and yellow brick set in Flemish bond, with a roof that is obscured by a parapet. The building has three storeys above a basement and is designed with three windows across its façade. The ground floor showcases banded rustication and includes panelled and fluted pilasters along with a fascia, likely remnants from its time as a public house. There are two flat-arched entrances with overlights, and all windows are flat-arched. The ground floor has two additional windows that were introduced later. The first-floor windows are adorned with architraves and cornices, while the second-floor windows have architraves only. The building also features a cornice and a blocking course, with side stacks. It is included for its group value.
